The next generation
For the past year, I have been a local organizer for rallies, protests, and events related to policies and programs that the current administration have implemented. I have been working diligently to remind everyone that when the founding fathers established the essential documents for the operation and function of our government, the clearly delineated the sovereign of the new nation would be "we the people." Laws, governance, and direction for the country were to come from the people. People in the US select representatives to serve, but those voices should reflect the will of the people. Over the course of the past year, that ideal has been frequently forgotten or blatantly rejected. The protests and rallies have been a pathway for people in our country to have their voices heard. Saturday, March 28, will be No Kings Day 3. Rallies, protests, marches will be held all over the country. Millions are expected to attend. I will be proud to participate in these acts. But what ...
